My name is Caitlin and I am the nutritionist on the executive board at Run Harrisonburg. I love my position because I get to combine two of my passions, running and nutrition! My hope is to provide fun and interactive nutrition education as well as some yummy snacks at our running events. I have recently started a YouTube series called “Cooking with Cait” where I share some of my favorite, easy-to-make recipes.
A bit about me:
I just graduated from JMU where I earned my B.S in Dietetics and competed on the Cross Country and Track and Field team. I will be further continuing my education at JMU in the Nutrition and Physical Activity Master’s program as well as running for one more year. I was born and raised in a small town in CT. I have been a runner for many years now. My passion for nutrition started back in high school where I saw how much food and fueling my body affected my running performance. I have personally seen the impact under fueling has not only on my running performance, but on my overall mental and physical health. Through my own experiences and education, I am passionate about cultivating an empowering environment where I can share advice on how to fuel your body to be strong and healthy! I believe there are no “bad foods” but moderation and balance is key.
I look forward to seeing everyone in person hopefully sometime soon. In the meantime, you can catch me on “Cooking with Cait”! If you have any recipe suggestions, questions or if you would like to share pictures/thoughts of the recipes you have tried, you can reach me at our Instagram (@run_harrisonburg) or firstname.lastname@example.org
