Combining Running and Nutrition

Hello friends!

My name is Caitlin and I am the nutritionist on the executive board at Run Harrisonburg. I love my position because I get to combine two of my passions, running and nutrition! My hope is to provide fun and interactive nutrition education as well as some yummy snacks at our running events. I have recently started a YouTube series called “Cooking with Cait” where I share some of my favorite, easy-to-make recipes.

A bit about me:

I just graduated from JMU where I earned my B.S in Dietetics and competed on the Cross Country and Track and Field team. I will be further continuing my education at JMU in the Nutrition and Physical Activity Master’s program as well as running for one more year. I was born and raised in a small town in CT. I have been a runner for many years now. My passion for nutrition started back in high school where I saw how much food and fueling my body affected my running performance. I have personally seen the impact under fueling has not only on my running performance, but on my overall mental and physical health. Through my own experiences and education, I am passionate about cultivating an empowering environment where I can share advice on how to fuel your body to be strong and healthy! I believe there are no “bad foods” but moderation and balance is key.
