Run Charlottesville, the origin of Run Your City, was founded by Mary Blankemeier and Madelin Rennyson, two members of the UVA Cross Country and Track and Field teams, in the Summer of 2018 with a mission to better children in the Charlottesville community through running. By offering a free running program that is easily accessible to families from around Charlottesville, we’re hoping to provide a fun way for kids to get exercise and learn about healthy life habits, as well as communication and teamwork skills.

Made possible, in part, by our Charlottesville sponsors

"I can’t say enough good things about this group! Run Charlottesville is well organized, supportive and fun! It is incredible to see so many collegiate athletes and students engaging and encouraging local children. Watching collegiate athletes run hand in hand, cheering and motivating area kiddos reminds us all how lucky we are to live in this town. This is Charlottesville!"
