Run Vermillion is a part of Run Your City, a non-profit focused on creating an inclusive community through running. Our mission is to help children build confidence, develop healthy habits, and feel inspired. As student-athletes on the University of South Dakota’s track and field team, we aim to ensure sports are accessible to all kids, regardless of socioeconomic status or ability.

Calia Chaney
Co-President
Hi! My name is Calia Chaney and I’m apart of the track and cross country teams at the University of South Dakota, specializing in the 800/1600 meter races. I am a junior majoring in math with a minor in business administration, on track to complete my masters in math as well. I am from Pequot Lakes, Minnesota and I love to travel, downhill ski, wake surf, spend time with friends and family, explore, and meet new people!

Rylie Hansen

Hey! I'm Rylie, a sophomore pole vaulter and long jumper at the University of South Dakota. I'm studying Medical Biology with a Spanish minor with aspirations of going to medical school! I decided to join the RYC Vermillion Leadership Team because I want to be able to support the community. Giving every kid a chance to feel a sense of belonging and inclusion is so important. I'm so excited for my opportunity to be a positive role model for the kids of Vermillion!

Hello! My name is Tommy and I am on both the Track & Cross Country teams at USD. I am a Junior working towards my Masters in Business Administration. In my free time I love being outside, playing games in the yard, and watching T.V. shows.

Hi! My name is Charlie Larson, and I am on the cross-country and Track team at USD. I am a sophomore majoring in finance. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, going to concerts and sports events, as well as hanging out with friends and family. I am excited to work with Run Your City this year and to try to give all the kids a positive and welcoming experience!

Hi! My name is Madison Brouwer - I am a senior on the cross country and track team at the University of South Dakota. I’m currently in the Nursing program! I really enjoy hiking, playing pickleball, going for walks with my dog, bike rides, and spending time with family and friends. I am thrilled to be on the leadership team for Run Your City and give back to the next generation of runners, share my experiences, and make a meaningful impact on their development both on and off the track!

I am a junior pole vaulter at the University of South Dakota originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I’m studying kinesiology and Spanish with a minor in business administration. I enjoy doing all things outside-hiking, paddle boarding, pickleball, skiing-and traveling, making sourdough and hanging out with friends! I believe everyone has unique value and I want to encourage, support, and empower others to grow with confidence. I want to make a positive impact on this community and I’m so excited to be a part of RYC Vermillion!

Howdy! My name is Dutch and I’m a sophomore pole vaulter on the USD track and field team majoring in Business Administration! I’m from Colorado and love hiking, snowboarding, playing piano, and sports! I used to be part of a running club when I was a kid and that’s why I’m super excited to be a part of RYC Vermillion and help make a difference in this community!
