Run Ogun
What is Run Ogun?

This 7-day sports camp, first held in August 2025, marked the start of an annual program organized by the Wamufat Youth Community Development Foundation (WYCDF). The event was made possible through partnerships with several local and international organizations, support from respected traditional rulers, and the vision of nationally-recognized athletes and coaches across Nigeria.
Nearly 500 young athletes, all 18 years old and under were introduced to sports like basketball, football, golf, tennis, and table tennis, helping to develop the next generation of Nigerian athletes. To support personal growth and cultural pride, participants learned about:

Nutrition
Positive Mindsets
Character Building

Community members of all ages also benefited from free, high-quality eye care services, helping to identify and support those with vision challenges who might otherwise have gone unnoticed.

Together we can.
Impact
Eye Care
With the help of the Visions Savers Eye Care Center, we supported a free 3-day clinic where we provided medical prescriptions, eyeglasses, and surgical operations for nearly 2000 underserved adults and children (surpassing expectations of 500).

Education
Our program connects youth with passionate, experienced mentors and promotes values like honesty, perseverance, and cultural pride, helping them represent their communities with confidence.
Sports Training
Along with training at the Sports Academy Complex, we shared tips on mindset, strategy, staying injury-free, and performing your best—skills that also help in everyday life and reaching future goals.

Meal Services
We served healthy, familiar meals every day and taught athletes how to plan meals and fuel their bodies the right way.
Participant Accommodations
Each participant received uniforms and sporting apparel, housing arrangements for the 7-day program, and rides to and from the site.

Ripple Effects
Families and the larger community became more engaged as athletes shared their experiences with others. This growing support boosted community pride and led to several impactful projects, including the construction of a pavilion and borehole!

How can you help?
To fund this program, we are looking to work with dedicated partners and generous donors to secure the resources needed to support the many kids that will participate in Run Ogun. Donations will go directly to the program, where kids will have access to eye care, incredible training, hot meals, sports equipment, and staff supervision and care. Your tax-deductible donation would go a long way to make this initiative a success.
Donations made through Every.org go directly to our fundraiser. Supporting Every.org itself is completely optional — you can skip their tip section to donate to Run Your City at no extra cost.
